DAVID HASTY...With over 30 years of experience, I am a St. Louis photographer driven by a passion for storytelling and artistic expression—transforming ordinary moments into captivating visuals that connect, inspire, and endure.What began as a childhood fascination became one of my greatest passions. Taking me places I could have never imagined. Within myself I found an art form as a tool to self expression, it is my legacy.
I am self taught, experimenting 35mm and medium format cameras and eventually transitioning to digital. My collection is a mix of both. Learning by instinct eventually my personal style emerged, recognizing the distinction of a simple snapshot to what could be a piece of art. My body of work is extensive and quite diverse with a mix of landscape and nature images along with some abstracts, natural abstracts. I strive to create art which is natural and unique which appeals to a broad range of people. Reflecting upon the art of photography I’ve found some elements that are keys to my success; curiosity, visualization, anticipation, patience and a great sense of adventure. It is often said that every picture tells a story. I love to share my many and various stories. I am a mere observer, a recorder of nature. Borrowing for a brief moment in our time that which is for all to see and experience. Through my lens this is the essence of my work. |
